Chilli Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g minced beef

  • 1 large onion, chopped.

  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp tomato puree

  • can kidney beans, drained

  • Can of black beans

  • A few red chillies

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp coriander

  • 2 tsp oregano powder

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tsp marjoram

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2-3 garlic cloves finely chopped then crushed

  • 1 tsp Cayenne pepper

  • 1 Bell pepper

  • Liquid smoke to taste

  • 100 ml red wine

  • stock cube

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large pan.

  2. Fry the onion until soft and starting to caramelise.

  3. add the garlic, bell pepper and red chillies and cook low until soft.

  4. add the mince, salt and pepper and fry until browned.

  5. Add the cumin, stock cube, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper and coriander fry for half a minute stirring to make sure everything is well coated and mixed.

  6. add chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, red wine and liquid smoke. simmer until thick.

  7. taste then add more spices and liquid smoke to taste.

  8. add marjoram, black beans and kidney beans. Simmer until the beans are well cooked. Add more water if it gets too thick.
