Jalfrezi
Ingredients
6 green chillies
4 chicken breasts, sliced
2 garlic clovesfinely chopped
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp garam masala
1 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp sea salt
200ml water
2 tbsp natural yoghurt
1 medium onion sliced
1 bell pepper chopped
2 tomatoes, quartered
Method
Finely chop 4 of the chillies. slice the two other chillies into two halves.
Slice chicken breast into thin strips.
Heat a tablespoon of the oil. Add the garlic, chopped chillies, chopped tomatoes, cumin, garam masala, turmeric, sugar and salt, then cook until the vegetables soften, stir so the spices do not burn.
Add the chicken and chillies fry until chicken is cooked. Pour over the 200ml of water, stir in the yoghurt and simmer until souce has thickened.
fry the onion, pepper and tomatoes in another pan. When the vegetables are soft add to the pan with the chicken in.
simmer until the sauce is thick.
